8 Remote Flexible Non Clinical Roles for SLPs in 2025
Discover 8 flexible, remote, and non clinical companies and roles hiring Speech Therapists! We have included a variety of roles such as customer success, sign language instructor, and tele therapy roles. There are many more amazing companies out there that hire SLPs but this is a great start!
If you are feeling frustrated that you are not getting any interviews or feeling overwhelmed by the resume editing or application process, please check out our Customer Success, Recruiting and Sales Certification Program here: https://www.alternativehealthcarecareers.com/remote-jobs-course
This program includes remote editing, email support, job notifications, internships with major companies, and step by step video trainings to help you secure these roles!
1. Recruiter:
There are numerous companies that hire recruiters - from MAS staffing, MedTravelers, AMN Healthcare, Cross Country Trav Corps, Marvel Staffing to many many more companies. So I can't provide you with a one specific company right now but I would encourage you to look not just for speech recruiter roles but also be open to applying to nurse recruiter, other therapy recruiter roles, or other healthcare recruiter roles.
I often tell my students to look into travel therapy companies as there are many Facebook groups on Travel Therapy, and so you can easily start to network with these recruiters and learn about the role and perhaps any openings.
If you have had any experience as a traveler, that helps and I often encourage our students to talk to their former recruiter. This worked well for one of our students who secured a recruiter role within one week of our coaching call. After we went through options for her, and she needed a remote and flexible role as she was new mom, she was encouraged to speak to her recruiter. And it was great luck! There was an opening and she was hired right away after reaching out. Basically, don't just apply to roles that SLP recruiter, be open to applying for other recruiter roles as well.
What would be the SLP recruiter job responsibilities?
This can vary but you will be attending team meetings, answering emails from prospective and current clients, performing job hunts for current and prospective clients, educating the clients about the companies you have found and the job packages, and often hopping on calls with current and prospective clients. You may be posting on social media, connecting with companies or affiliates or other influencers to share your reach, or other marketing tactics.
What would be the SLP recruiter salary?
This can vary greatly by company and also by your success. Often recruiter roles are a combination of a salary and a commission per successful placement. Often the more you place clients, the more you earn and there is a progressive pay ladder. Also, once you have consistent clients then these clients often continue to take roles which means your client list of ongoing successfully placed people grows and with it, your income. You can definitely earn 6 figures with a good work ethic, strong communication and organization skills and the ability to network.
2. Customer Education Manager:
I highly recommend Speech Therapists pursue roles within EMR companies. There are a vast number of EMR companies that hire Speech Therapists and so to name just a few, you could look into HelloNote, WebPT, Strata, Escora, and Theraplatform.
One particular role that I think Speech Therapists would enjoy would be Customer Education Manager. The unique thing about non clinical roles is that many job titles have multiple types of titles, so when you search this in the future you many want to fiddle with the exact wording as different companies use a different variety to their job roles (it makes it really frustrating as a job coach!) And similarly to the recruiter role, these roles will not necessarily say SLP customer education manager. Usually they will not have a degree requirement.
What are the duties of a Customer Education Manager:
-
You will work closely with technical engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure documentation meets user needs
-
Maintaining an organized and accessible repository of technical articles will be crucial, ensuring easy retrieval and reference
